Installation failing
Hello/Hi/Greetings,
Every time I try to install PIWIGO I get "Cannot connect to server" and the following errors:

Warning: mysqli::__construct(): (HY000/1045): Access denied for user 'piwigo'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in C:\xampp\htdocs\piwigo\include\dblayer\functions_mysqli.inc.php on line 67

Warning: mysqli::set_charset(): Couldn't fetch mysqli in C:\xampp\htdocs\piwigo\include\dblayer\functions_mysqli.inc.php on line 103
I've created two users on the server and both have access to the "piwigo" database.
This is all on localhost, so in theory there should not be any problems with "connection".
Piwigo version: 2.9.3
PHP version: 7
MySQL version: 5.0.12
Piwigo URL: http://localhost/piwigo/

There are some hiccups with 7.2
Can you try switching to PHP 5 or 7.1, at least for the installation portion?

Piwigo works fine with PHP 7.2, this is a MySQL problem.
Download MySQLWorkbench and examine the users you created. Do they have sufficient privileges? Is the password correct? Do you indeeed associate them with localhost?

I downgraded to 7.1.6 and I'm still getting the error:
