Re: IPTC keywords usage - editing, search

Synchronize should capture the previously uploaded photos, and apply mappings.

Re: IPTC keywords usage - editing, search

The original poster back with a few comments and one question:

We had someone install Piwigo for us as recommended above to be able to make full use of the IPTC keywords. At first it worked really well, all photos were uploaded with the keywords present in Piwigo. The search worked well, all looked excellent.

However, we have had problems with the uploads we have performed the last few weeks: the keywords have not been added to Piwigo, so they are not displayed along with the photos (as they were for our first uploads), are not (in the case of new keywords) added to the list of keywords and of course also do not work for the search.

Does this ring any bells, does anyone have any ideas about what may have happened and how we can avoid that happening in the future? We would love to make the full move to Piwigo, because the first impressions were excellent. But we obviously do not want to lose all the work that went into tagging the photos with IPTC keywords in the first place.

Thank you very much!

Re: IPTC keywords usage - editing, search

You should probably talk to the person who installed your Piwigo.

Re: IPTC keywords usage - editing, search

Yes that sounds like a good idea. However, since we pay for each intervention I know that he hasn't been working on this. So I was wondering if this kind of problem is something that some of you have experienced or heard about before, and if so where you looked/for what in order to establish what happened and of course to prevent it from happening again.

I'm sorry that I wasn' so precise in my question. I am hoping there is some obvious solution to the problem, especially since the first tests were so positive, and basically was hoping some of you had some ideas about where I should ask the guy to look and for what.

Thank you very much for any help you may be able to provide!

Re: IPTC keywords usage - editing, search

Since Piwigo was not touched, your issue probably lies elsewhere. You need a knowledgeable individual to look at your system and perform troubleshooting.
