Question About Piwigo Best Practices on Shared Hosting

Hello

I saw a thread where a Piwigo user on shared hosting was advised "on shared hosting, you should disable all size excepting the medium one, and run preferentially the resize on local then upload them"

Is that still the best practice for shared hosting?

The original thread was from 2013, and was titled "Server entry processes exceeding limits". It is at https://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=22369  if you want to take a look.

Thanks
