Good afternoon,

I am a new user with a new album. Looks very good honestly. Thank you.

Unfortunately we are facing an issue:

The users have a login ONLY, no password. But the access with the IOS app is not possible. Access to the photo album is OK with username AND password, but not with a username only.
The photo album access is ok on a web browser (PC or mobile) with username only.
Can you please check this point?

Piwigo version: latest
PHP version: tried with php 7.2 and php 5.6 is actually on
MySQL version: MYSQL v.5.6

Hi

I have checked with the debugger and indeed the Piwigo web API pwg.session.login refuses an empty password.
The server replies to the mobile app with the response:

{
err = 1002;
message = "Missing parameters: password";
stat = fail;
}

The documentation says that the password is required. So I cannot fix that unless Pierrick modifies the API method. I have opened a ticket on [Github] Piwigo issue #1016.

Well, still the same issue.
It seems complicated to be solved...
Any possibility to have a solution in a short term period before I switch to another platform?

Good evening,

I have contacted directly @plg on [Github] Piwigo issue #1016 this evening to see whether we could find a quick fix. The web UI indeed allows to login with a username and no password but this is not possible for the moment with the library provided to third party apps like mobile apps.

Is it really impossible to create a password, even reduced to a single character?

Oh! that's a pretty good news. I didn't want to inform 100 people about a new login AND password (my first album are pictures of a wedding). In fact the interest of this function is that we can consider the login without password as a password to access to the album, easier to remember for people, and album visibility is hidden from people who don't have this single password (login)...
Once this new version will be released not as an RC, I will test it and give you feedback.

Great, thanks, I wanted to use Piwigo for professional reasons (it'll allow me to make a gallery of pics of ***no piwigo link*** apartments for sale in Barcelona for my colleagues to access) and it was rather difficult to grant access to everyone, with their different ways to use it - Windows, iOS, Android... But this will make my work easier.
