Hello Piwigo user, here come fresh news about Piwigo.

Piwigo turns 15

by Pierrick, Piwigo founder

15 years ago, Piwigo 1.0.0 was released. Back then its name was still PhpWebGallery. I started this project as a personal project. Living next to my engineering school, I wanted to share photos with my parents, 500 kilometers away. Because I was using other open source software I wanted to give back to the community and published Piwigo with an open source license !

Over the years Piwigo has become a full-featured solution to manage your photo collection. First users were private users. Then came photographers. Today more and more teams and companies are using Piwigo to manage their own photo library. I'm very proud and grateful at the same time. Thank you to all contributors, developers, translators, forum supporters, extension creators!

No more talking, let's see what Marion prepared to celebrate this event :-)

Piwigo 2.9

Design matters. This is what recent user testing sessions have clearly revealed. This is why this version 2.9 focuses on refreshing our design, for the administration pages. Of course we have also added a few features, improved ergonomy and made your Piwigo even faster.

Here is certainly the biggest change on 2.9: design! Dark header, footer and menubar. Less borders. Brand new administration home page, called "Dashboard", with big icons for quick access to main pages.

We've made our best to have as many extensions compatible with Piwigo 2.9 as possible. You should be able to update right now :-)

Happy update!
