Upgrade went fine.
Is there an (easy) way to use the new album selector in extensions? I'd love to be able to clean up my plug-in to use that.
Here comes the third (and certainly last) beta for Piwigo 15.
A) Changes
Redesigned search filter for post date: Piwigo 15 will let you select a custom date, which can be a year, a month, a day, or several of them at once.
The photo upload form gets the new album selector.
In the user manager, the filters get smarter: display the number of users for each option and disable empty options.
Less visual but still important:
* The search filters become more dynamic. Options of filter "added by" depends only on other filters, and no more on the current value of filter "added by". Let's take an example: in Piwigo 14, if you filter on "added by = paul", the "added by" will then only have the option "paul". You're not able to switch to "john" because photos added by paul can't be added by john. Now in Piwigo 15, the "added by" filter will keep other options like "john". Now if you have another active filter, like "filetype = MP4", the list of "added by" options, will be the list of users that have added an MP4 file. It's a real user experience improvement, trust us :-)
* Album manager: much better performances on high volume. If you have a lot (and we mean more than 10k) of albums, the album manager can take several seconds to load, depending on the speed of your computer. With Piwigo 15 and optimizations implemented by linty, the album manager will load in milliseconds, no matter the number of albums.
* Promote the new english documentation in admin help pages
B) Improvements
* Depending on your MySQL version, IPv6 addresses would crash history. Problem fixed.
