You're welcome.

Reading an older post on the german forum (http://de.piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1103#p1103), there could be issues with other camera vendor's tags, though. Nicon seems to use  0x0095 for noise reduction.

'UndefinedTag:0x0095'
(that should be the canon-specific lens model)

Before I written the post I already read this topic and this specific code made 7 years ago
http://fr.piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.ph … 18#p118418
where this already have been discussed about 0x0095 tag .  I also checked all the exif values using the tool implemented in /piwigo/tools/metadata.php

In my pictures 0x0095 is an empty string. However I have Lensname at 0x0095 but only when I use a teleconverter coupled with the lens. The value look like something like this: "EF300mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x"
But like I said the LensId corresponding to "300mm F/4 IS" lens is somewhere in ModeArray values coded as an integer. The position where this is, seems to be something camera model depending (I have 3 dSLR Canon cameras).

If piwigo has the possibility to check for composite tags in  config.inc.php, we should have this option also in exif extension.
-------
P.S.  I'm coming from menalto gallery2, and they used exifixer library to read the exif (also zenphoto and coppermine use the same library). That library also can decode the Makernotes tags.

It was easy for me to extend their library to read the LensId from 3 places:
-1) Markernotes (the classic method);
-2) LensModel in the IDF3 tag at "a432 / a433 / a434" for the newer cameras made after 2012 that suport EXIF 2.3 specifications;
http://www.cipa.jp/std/documents/e/DC-008-2012_E.pdf
-3) Newer software like Adobe Photoshop starting from version CS6 strip some exif data like A403 and are copying Lensname to their XMP data when you use "Save for web";

Seems this is not camera dependent, but lens or teleconverter dependent. I have found that 2 of my lenses put data in the 0x0095 tag, while my other 3 lenses don't (except when coupled with the teleconverter).

Take a look at [Forum, topic 25997] Issues in Exif parsing and bring your experience there please :-)
