Introduction of Eliza Patrinou gallery and piwigo customization!

After the proposing mail I received to introduce my gallery here I took the chance and do it.

Before I introduce you my gallery and speak you about the customize I did on piwigo let me introduce you myself.

My name is Eliza, I was born in Gr-Thessaloniki where I stay until now. Arts always fascinated me... Well I am not going to speak for myself anymore if someone want to read my thoughts can read an interview of mine here

About my photos..

You can see my gallery here  www.corazonlibre.gr/photos/  or if you prefer  www.gallery.corazonlibre.gr  :-)

I have online gallery many years now, usimg minigal but I didn't like it finally and I wanted to change it so
I set up my new gallery using Piwigo.

I discover Piwigo throught a member of a online photography forum that me and some good friends create.
I like the interface first and the I like all the possibilities that piwigo gives you. Comments, contact, add boxes, add links e.t.xc.

After I set up piwigo I decided to make some changes to make my life easier so:

1. I put a quick search box on the right side of the header.
(You can add this search box using the following code in the box "page banner" from the menu "Configuration")

code for search bar:

<form action="qsearch.php" method="get" id="quick2search" onsubmit="return this.q.value!='' && this.q.value!=qsearch_prompt;" style="display:block;position:fixed; right:2px; top:2px; width:200px;">
        <input type="text" name="q" id="qsearch2Input" onfocus="if (value==qsearch_prompt) value='';" onblur="if (value=='') value=qsearch_prompt;" style="width:90%"/>
    </form>
    <script type="text/javascript">var qsearch_prompt="Quick search"; document.getElementById('qsearch2Input').value=qsearch_prompt;</script>

2. Then I wanted to add something to the header so it wan't be black.
(You can add any image you want on the header as long as the image is exist somewhere online and you know the image address and the add the following code to the box "page banner" from the menu "Configuration")

<div id="theHeader" style="padding:3px;">
<img src="here you'll put the link of the image you want to add to the header" />
</div>

3. Then I wanted to add some boxes so I can write something about myself so I went rom admin page to "specials" -> plugins and from the tab other plugins I choose the plugin Advanced Menu Manager and then I add a box with title about me and I put and the box with  some frinds links on the first page.

4. Then I wanted to put an communicate form for the guest who want to commun icate with me but not leave a comment, so I add another plugin , the Contact Form

5. All the images are copyright protected and I wanted to be written somewhere on my gallery so I add another plugin , the LMT .

I'd be glad to see your comments on my photos. Thanks a lot

Best regards,
Eliza

nice photos, I'm a newbie to photography i just got the hobby from last month. I'm no programmer or website admin but I wan't to share my photos and mainly that's the reason I'm here in piwigo. I enjoyed watching your photos. Did you edit some photos? what did you use to edit?

Elizap,

keep search box as float element is not very native for search box pattern =)
Feels a bit weird, just keeping it in top right corner is good enough, that's the place where users will look for it.

400+ Magento Themes, each Magento template includes PSD file. See our gallery!

Hello and sorry for the delay answer but I've just got backfrom vacations  ( :(   )

I also not a programmer but with my occupation with photograph and computers during the years I've learned some stuff by myself  :)

Thanks a lot for visiting my site. I'm very glad you like my photos.
Most of the photos that exist on my site are not edit at all except their conversion from color to black andwhite since when I was photographing I was"watching" in black and white.

For the conversion I used photoshop.

For anything else please don't hesitate to contact me.
