I've tried using this with a few different themes (including the basic "yoga") and it has not been working.

I'm sorry but we have to remove plugin HD Shadowbox from piwigo.org/svn and from the piwigo.org/ext. Why? because it is not compatible with Piwigo license. The javascript library you use is not opensource.

I give you 15 days before I apply removal. Of course you can create a page on your own website to distribute your plugin, but it can't be distributed on piwigo.org.
