Hello,
I'm currently testing version 2.1 prior to my upgrade.
I need to have RSS feeds for each gallery and right now I have no clue how to get this to work on version 2.1
Any idea? I would appreciate if somebody could point me to the right direction.
Thanks

Hi lcavalie,
If I understand correctly you're currently using Piwigo 2.0, right?
Are you already using RSS feeds? If yes, there is no change on this feature between releases 2.0 and 2.1.
What do you mean by "for each gallery"? In the Piwigo dictionnary, a "gallery" is a Piwigo installation (with many categories inside).

ok my mistake
yes I have version 2.0.3 running now.
what I'm looking for is a way to have a rss feed for each category (excuse the use of the wrong word)
I already found the feeds for the new pictures but that's not enough.
thanks for your help.

Currently, notification system (RSS/email) is not related to a specific category but to a user : depending on permissions, each user may see a different set of photos and the set of photos leads to the list of categories.
Let's discuss about an improvement on the notification system: how would you describe the behavior of notification at category level? which events are interesting to add in the notification system? (new photos, new comments, new sub-categories, etc.)

It does not even need to be so complicated.
What I'm looking for is something (I guess a php script) that would generate a rss feed with the CONTENT of each category.
It's actually very basic but it can be very very useful to export the content of a category and... syndicate it.
Do you think it can be done?
Thanks

Even if it is a simple list of content, what should we do when:
- A category is private and the guest user not authorized to see it ?
- A picture has a privacy level as Friends for example ?
Should we list these pictures ?

Of course not :-) There is no reason to provide forbidden content even if it is an RSS feed.

any chance something like that can be done easily?

Hello -
I can't find the feeds for each category. Can you tell me where they are? I'm using today's current version.
Thanks!

sorry but sometimes we are busy, sometimes more available
Moreover you just dig up a 3 year old subject and so infringe the rules
To answer you I don't think there is a rss feed by album available, and that's what is said there .

Flop 25:
1. I just reread the rules. I did not break any of them with this reply. Here they are for your reference:
http://piwigo.org/forum/misc.php?action=rules
2. As a humble suggestion, if you don't like people replying to old posts, why don't you remove them? Whatever reason you have to prohibit replies to old posts would probably be a reason not to have them here the first place. If you want to keep them, then you could at least close them. Most forum scripts allow both of these processes to be done automatically.
3. You said " I don't think there is a rss feed by album available, and that's what is said there ."
As you pointed out, this is an old thread, so I was hoping that some progress had been made in the past two years. There was no more discussion in other threads that addressed this in a new thread, so I asked for an update, which your reply now makes this thread useful and updated, with 2013 information.
4. Based on my reasons above, I see nothing wrong with what I did, bu since this is your forum, I won't reply to anymore outdated threads. What is your cutoff? a week? 6 months? 1 year? 3 years? Please let me know so I can apply it before replying to any more threads, and I'll create a new one for this question.
I am as busy as anyone else, and didn't post here to make you mad, or to argue with you or anyone else. I just wanted a quick answer to find out if an rss feed had been made available so I could display slideshows on other websites of a specific album.
Hope we can move past this and get back to the purpose of this support forum.
Thanks,
jj
