Re: Lightroom plug-in beta testing - invitation

Thank you,

now it works. I've changed the show_version option into true.
Publishing is working, republishing after editing the metadata is also working.

Now I have to work on my photogallery...

Thank you for your help

Hello alloyphoto,

it is not able to deactivate the logging function.
Can I specify the path for the logging-file?
Can I specify the maximum filesize for the logging file?

regards

If enabled, the log file is automatically reset when you start Lightroom.
If you want to disable the logging function, double-click the publish service for Piwigo, click the Plug-in Info button, then un-check the "Enable debug logging" option (see the screen shot).

Hi alloyphoto,

I have some smart album.
One picture is present in other smart albums. So, when i publish my smart albums, the same picture are not duplicated :-(
=> The comments aren't duplicated because the picture aren't unique.

Would you have an idea to correct the problem?

cljosse,

Could you submit your debug log so I can review what caused the error?

This has been confirmed. The fix will be included in the next update.

Re: Lightroom plug-in beta testing - invitation

Hi, I just tested PiwigoExport 1.3.0 build 460.

This plugin is great, I already tested it in the beginning, this was already promising, and since then, there has been a lot of good work on it.

Congratulations, I'm gonna use this plugin from now on to update my piwigo gallery.
It will be so much easier!

It's already great but there are still some details to improve.

The main issue I have concerns the private categories.
My gallery is private, and I only have private albums with several different types of access rights.

Currently, PiwigoExport works fine with public albums.

If I try to use private albums, I get some problems:
Suppose I want to create an album structure: A > B > C > D.
If I create albums within Lightroom, each time I create a child album, it seems to recreate the parent album.
At the end I get 4 different structures:
- A
- A > B
- A > B > C
- A > B > C > D

The solution is, each time I create an album from PiwigoExport, I go to Piwigo, change the access rights for this album and give the rights to Lightroom user.
This works, but can take time...

After giving the rights to Lightroom user, everything works fine.
I can publish photos, update, etc...

Some other comments about the plugin.
- when I rename an album from Piwigo, the album is not renamed in Lightroom.
- when I rename an album from Lightroom, it works, except if I use the command "modify album" and I change the name of the album and not the description (if I change the description, it works)

- if we move an album from Piwigo, the album is not moved in Lightroom, but all the publishing still work fine.
- if we import album structure, the album is put back at the correct location.

- Import Album Structure is a great functions, which works perfectly... for public albums. It does not work for private albums.

- Associate Images functions does not work at all.
For each album, it creates only one association, always with the same picture, which has nothing in common (name, date, even camera) with any of the pictures in piwigo.

A small test I made :
- I created an album with images from Lightroom, and published it without changing the name of the photos
- I suppressed the album Lightroom, leaving it on piwigo
- I then imported album structure from Ligthroom. The album is correctly imported, without any picture.

Re: Lightroom plug-in beta testing - invitation

Hi,

When working with private albums, please make sure you have granted yourself permissions to access them. By default, when make an album private in Piwigo admin interface, the album becomes inaccessible. You have to go to the "Permissions" function and grant yourself access.

Meanwhile I am going to review other issues you've mentioned.
Thanks!

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, this works, but when you create a huge folder structure, you have to give this access to each album, one by one...

With the plugin, you have no way to modify permissions on albums?
(when the user is tha administrator of the gallery).

And when using the "Import Album Structure" function (which is quite new and very useful), even the private albums for which I have the access are not imported.

1. Piwigo API does not provide methods for managing album permissions, at least currently. I am hoping this would be improved in future.

2. I'll test this today or tomorrow. Technically, the information about accessible private categories should be available to the plugin. So if they don't get imported then it's probably can be fixed.

Re: Lightroom plug-in beta testing - invitation

I would really really really really really really really be thankful if you make something similar for Picasa.

I am pretty sure there is a plug-in for Picasa...

Yep, here is the link: http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/picasaweb. Personally, I have never used it but I think it's worth checking out.
