The solution to use a distinct table for your plugin is good. Yes you could add extra columns in the core table, but as long as their is no performance issue, I think a separate table is a best solution.

Ok, thank you for that.

Does anybody know how to make it possible that copyrights can also be added in Batch Manager - Single Mode?

Yes, it's another new thing to learn: prefilter. You can take a look at [extension by ddtddt] Add Info Users which adds fields in the user profile forum.

Ok I looked into that, and I do understand it a little bit.

Now I have another question which I would like to know your opinion for:
I want to add icons to the copyrights, so that it is easy to distinguish them. Now there are three options
1) Let the admin fix hosting for the icon and fill in an url to the icon
Pro: Very easy and flexible to implement
Con: The admin has to do quite some work; Continuous streaming from other hosts might not be a good idea
2) Let the admin upload an icon which the plugin then stores in some folder
Pro: Minimal work for the admin
Con: The plugin becomes a small gallery of itself
3) Create a special category 'Copyright icons' in Piwigo. Let the admin upload and then select an image from this category to be used as icons
Pro: Use the power of Piwigo, for which it was designed
Con: Mixing up administrative images with the users own images

I'm eager to know your thoughts on this. Please let me know what you think is best.

Regards,
Johan

Re: [Plugin] Copyrights v1.0

Hi,

I'm looking forward for you to develop a solution for copyright icons.
Personally i would prefer an icon placed along the description of the image, together with created/posted date, size, dimensions, etc, or on the upper toolbar together with the options to download, add to caddie, etc.

Good luck!

Re: [Plugin] Copyrights v1.0

Hi,

We´re not completely sure how to manage the icons, but i´ve added the name (and url) in the picture description, below the author.
(i personally prefer both (1) and (2))

Also i have a question. After installing this plugin, i got this warning:

WARNING! This plugin does not seem to be compatible with this version of Piwigo.

Still, it works bugless (for as far as i know) and it's compatible with 2.2.1 and 2.2.0 (our mediagallery has piwigo version 2.2.1).
Does anyone know how we can fix this?

Re: [Plugin] Copyrights v1.0

Hmmm, i see the error.

But i can't see where its coming from.
I mean, i just deleted the whole plugin, with SVN got back to the first version updated, and it gave the same bug. I thought that version actually worked - i did see a working version...

its weird

anyway, it looks like you cant change or add new copyrights, so you'll have to do with the default Creative commons for now ;)

Edit: fixed ;)

Re: [Plugin] Copyrights v1.0

Dear Piwigo users,

We are very glad to announce version 1.0 of our plugin [extension by J.Commelin] Copyrights. This is the first stable release, and from now on the plugin is actually usable.

== Version 1.0 ==
In this version we provide the following features for copyright management:
- Copyrights can be added and edited via the admin page of the plugin
- Copyrights can be assigned to pictures via:
  - The batchmanager (both global and single mode) --NEW!
  - The picture modify page --NEW!
- Copyrights will show up when viewing photos, in the descriptions

Best regards,
  Johan (and Mattias)

Re: [Plugin] Copyrights v1.0

Hi guys, just installed this addon, is there a way to automate the Copyright when using pLoader?

I would like ALL my photos to use my Copyright Notice, but have to go to BATCH after upload and then add it to all imges, seems a bit longwinded :s

Any help appreciated as I am new to Piwigo.

TIA

You're welcome.
But note that i only added it to my todo list - i wont start on it for at least a week, and i cant guarantee it will work :)
Still, ill give it a try
