More questions about video on piwigo

I've got Charlies installed.  How do I make it work?

The video is showing, but it's huge, lots bigger than it's supposed to be.  I wanted 640 width. How (where) do I set it?

I've got two videos in the video category, both of the same thing (a little steam engine with smoke coming out the top, just 4 seconds).

One is in WMV form, the other QT.

Re: More questions about video on piwigo

I think Charlies isn't compatible with the latest release of Piwigo.

Re: More questions about video on piwigo

Just to say that using charlie in this way is not the right thing to go.

I shall release a HTML5 video plugin if I find some time tomorrow

Oh, please, do so! I've been waiting for someone to make a plugin or some kind of instructions on how to make html5 video work. :)

Re: More questions about video on piwigo

Soooo ...

I has a lot of trouble trying to integrate videoJs ( http://videojs.com ) into a tpl template ( Did I say I'm a newbie in PHP :-) ) So , for now I would suggest using my patch to Charlies content as a workaround.

So my patch is here :

http://ubuntuone.com/3nMcp2eTsxUq6fcqCTk8pO

- You just unzip it on the lastest version of Charlies content.

- You delete _data/plugins/chaliescontent.dat to reset the options

- it adds a new HTML5 template with OGV, MP4 and WEBM files in HTML5. No fallback support for anything else, so all non standard browser such as IE678 will be invited to upgrade.

- the new feature compared to previous atempt is that I use the name of the file without the extension, so you could upload for example toto.webm and synchronize it and adds toto.mp4 later , it will work as the opposite.

- You still need to upload a TN-toto.jpg in the /thumbnail directory as usual.

Please let me know if it works for you , I'll do better later on

Ps : I also tried to use the vplayer plugin but it just did not work for me and I couldn't dig in it for now

My machine is running on XP and IE9 runs in Win7.  So I guess I can't use it.  Thanks for trying.

Re: More questions about video on piwigo

Hi Lisa.

IE9 support HTML5 with H264 so it will work great.

It will even works with Webm if you install the Google codec.

You can test it right here :

http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/graph … fault.html

I have a solution to make webm works in :

- IE678 : google chrome frame
- Safari mac : perian codec pack
- Android 2.2 :  just launch an external player

But the main problem is Iphone/ipad , this is the only main platform for which we need to include a H264 flavor of the file in order to have 100% visitors support

I'm not running Win7. IE9 is not available on any previous version of Windows. I'm running IE 8 on a WinXP machine.

I'll check out the google chrome frame.

Re: More questions about video on piwigo

Sorry ! I read quickly your previous answer and thought you were saying that you use IE9 ( which I found really weird :-) )

Chrome Frame if the answer, just install it and test my website ( Currently OGV/MP4 only )  :
