IE6 and New default theme for Piwigo 2.4

I'm working on the new default theme for Piwigo 2.4, elegant.
I still have work to do to make it compatible with IE7, but it will be very, very hard to make it compatible with IE6.

If we believe the stats here:
http://gs.statcounter.com/

IE6 represents has a 1.50% share (was 4.5% one year ago).
(it's probably mainly used in china where it has a 30% (decreasing) share).

So my question is: should we make the default piwigo 2.4 theme compatible with IE6?

If not:
- do we add a message for people to ugrade to another browser?
- do we automatically switch on another theme (like with the mobile version)?

Clearly no : Ms it-self don't support IE :http://www.ie6countdown.com
I suggest to use this : http://www.ie6countdown.com/join-us.aspx

When we look at the way IE6 displays the current default theme... it's not perfect either.
If you display the menu on picture page, the image is displayed below the menu...

I think it's fine for officially dropping support of IE6 with Piwigo 2.4 in 2012 http://www.ie6countdown.com

Facebook or WordPress have also dropped this support. Considering how big they are (compared to Piwigo... for now) I think it's enough to say that we can't take a bad decision if we drop it too.
