configuration multiuser remote upload user upload users

I am currently using a Gallery 2 album on a Dreamhost virtual Web server for our family photos. There's a number of users I'd like to be able to manage their own albums, create new albums, upload new photos (possibly via FTP and "from Web page", ie by typing in the URL of a remote directory on the virtual server) etc.
I am not 100% happy with the way Gallery allows control on privileges and was wondering whether Piwigo would be a better option. If this was complex and I needed help setting it up (I have a general knowledge of remote hosting, but am not a programmer), would I be able to get it?

Hi martad,

You will have to use [extension by plg] Community and give upload permissions to users you want. They will be able to create new albums and upload photos (but they won't have "administration" rights on their albums/photos).
