I am sorry to hear this, I really love using Picasa.
I guess I will now have to find an alternative that is as cheap and performs as well as Picasa...

I've uploaded an add-in for Picasa, Picasa2Piwigo, that allows Picasa users to upload photos from Picasa to Piwigo. It's over here: http://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=680
Give it a try.

Hello!
After running the installer, I am unable to find a new upload or share button anywhere in Picasa.
Is there anything else I should be doing on top of running setup.exe?
I have Picasa 3.9 and windows 7.

Aha!
I was able to install the Picasa button by launching the web page contained in the installer zip file with Internet Explorer.
It fails to detect that Picasa is installed if the web page is launched with Firefox.
I will now test the button.

Hello again.
Should the plugin/button populate the drop down lists of current albums by itself?
So far, they only show empty lists.
Other then that, I can upload fine, thank you very much!

I will give a try soon. Can you show some screenshots?

There's a couple screenshots on the documentation page: http://piwigo.org/doc/doku.php?id=picasa2piwgo
But I've enclosed some here as well.

Hello.
I have an issue : I installed it on another user's computer and I gave that user upload permission into their own album on my piwigo installation through the use of the Community plugin.
I am unable to upload using the button, I get an authorization failed error message.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hello,
I installed the community plugin and tried uploading an album (using permissions via community). I was surprised because I expected it to fail, but it did not. So, I'm not sure. If there's other details you can supply about your environment, that you think are relevant, please supply them.

Hello.
The other user was given write permission to only his own folder.
When the button prompts for a destination album, I tried various ways to reach that folder as the drop down menu never gets populated, so I have to fill the destination folder with my best guess : /parent/path or parent/path or /parent/path/, etc... I was not able to have it upload any images without complaining about right access.
I have confirmed that I can upload to that user's album with the web interface of piwigo.
I have also confirmed that I can upload to my own albums with admin credentials using the Picasa button.
In both cases, I am unable to have the button pull the list of available albums to upload to.
Thanks again for your time and effort!

I have an issue trying to upload too. I get the following error:
"An Error Occurred: The Internal Server returned an error:(500) Internal server error."
It appears to create the album, but when it starts to upload the picture It fails out.
Thanks for the help!
Hello,
By chance are you trying to upload video files?
