Like: should the new icon be more monochromatic? edit : should I remove the gradient?

more monochromatic than black and white ? I don't get it ^^

I like the "pre-thumbnail" icon (just need a dark version for clear themes)
but there is no load indicator, I thought about a small loading circle in the title of the category

about picture.php, why removing the big ajax loader ? actually I liked the version of [Subversion] r16502
just need a different version for dark themes (because "The big loading.gif on picture.php is really ugly on black background like Elegant :-/ " is totally true)

"more monochromatic" well yes... but in fact I thought of the gradient.. which is monochrom yes. So "no gradient icon?" is what I really meant ^^

There is a loading bar -same than the picture page- at the bottom right :)

I changed it for that issue of transparent gif with background, the one which make it ugly on some background depending on how was build the transparency

the gif at the bottom-right doesn't always appear, I only get it when generating categories thumbnails, not photos thumbnails

Which browser? Are you sure there are thumbnails to generate?

yes ^^ I just deleted all derivatives and they show the new icon during generation

did you test in an album without subalbums ?
because on mainpage_categories.tpl I see "<div class="loader" .................."
and not in thumbnails.tpl

(you should move inline style to css file)

edit: ok it is in index.tpl
