Removal of About Piwigo link

I would like to remove from menu the About link which talks about Piwigo. It is useless, most people remove it (if they find the trick; otherwise they stick with it).

Any objection ?

Re: Removal of About Piwigo link

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

would not it be better if we add a textarea to customize it, like for the header? And also add, a mention about cookies?

Re: Removal of About Piwigo link

No really the time right now, but I have several ideas "planned" (but never found the time to put in practice). Just for info, on Piwigo.com, I have :

Code:

add_event_handler('blockmanager_apply' , 'pcom_remove_about_menu', EVENT_HANDLER_PRIORITY_NEUTRAL+10);
function pcom_remove_about_menu($menu_ref_arr)
{
  if (($block = $menu_ref_arr[0]->get_block('mbMenu')) != null)
  {
    unset($block->data['about']);
  }
}

But I like better the idea of flop25 than a big remove.

I thought additional pages does exactly that but a lot better and fancy.

Plg funny but I have the same code... as probably every programmer. ...

Re: Removal of About Piwigo link

Indeed, Additional Page is much better, like AMM for managing the menu etc. That page is currently "useless" -even if a plugin allow its customization?- because that's static, and redondant with the mention in the footer, But... letting that page in the core and improving it, as customizable, would be an opportunity to let people having a custom page, very simply, without always using a plugin.
Since every website need a about/legal mention page, we might also set the name of the page as a variable and even set it as optionnal, with a checkbox to disable it like you want
