I am migrating from the now dead Gallery 3 project.
But I am missing a few features, one of which is the ability to click on the image and have the original size image served.
The module lightbox is not working, it gives the medium image no matter what.

Hello ?
There is a download button in the toolbar on the photo page
and the original image is available throuht the "sizes" button (still in the top toolbar)
also there is [extension by plg] Download by Size for "advanced" download and [extension by plg] Custom Download Link for bigger original download

So I conclude when browing a Piwigo gallery, there is no option – builtin or by plugin – to enlarge a /single/ image by clicking on it.
That is really a bummer.

the image itself is used for navigation (previous, next, top)
I really think Custom Download Link is more straighforward for users
and you can still develop your plugin or theme that offers all functionnalities you want
("bummer" is really a strong word for a really small difference)

Lightbox DOES enlarge the picture, it tries to choose the best size to fit your screen
and ultimately the original is still accessible by many ways

One click. Enlarge the picture. That is what users want. They do not want "downloads" and navigating to their "download" folder to see a single image.
Lightbox gives the medium size image. Period. It should give the original, as per preference, but it doesn't.

The Stripped theme does it. That's a 'false' issue. This is a matter of web design

Fancybox does exactly what I need. It shows the original image in single photo view, as an overlay.
Unfortunately, the current version of Fancybox is not compatible with the latest version of Piwigo. Just updating the fancybox libraries solved that, it is a really simple plugin.
But then there's another problem: Fancybox is not compatible with image protection, the image will just load and replace the current photo page, it will not overlay. Dunno if this can be overcome by some parameter.

It sure is something I would like to have as well ... though I was thinking about modifying the button code, just to open in new page with the image instead of downloading.
