Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Serge,
I'm new to Piwigi so excuse the ignorant reply...

The new overlay is very clean and attractive.

The number of photos red box is very clear and helpful. But why the album icon - is it just to tell me I'm clicking on an album (or sub-album) not an actual photo? If so then how about EITHER red #photos box OR photo icon?

And could you edit your post - the full stop at end of category1 sentence has crept into the link !
Thanks
Jamie.

I would like to ask for feedback on new overlay mode - see here http://photo.dragonsoft.us/index?/category/1. Compare it with http://photo.dragonsoft.us/index?/category/14

New mode right now applies only to albums and shows title/# of photos and album icon.

What other info would be useful? What info is applicable to photo thumbs?

PS: Please note this mode uses bootstrap css icons so it would require GreyDragon theme at this time.

There is next iteration to test - http://photo.dragonsoft.us/index?/category/14
you will notice that album now has different icon as compare to the photo thumb
Also, both album and photo thumbs are now in sync

Album thumb includes title, # of photos and album icon
Image thumb includes title, # of hits, photo icon and rating. Rating would appear only if photo was rated.

I can make it part of the configuration but first check latest iteration to see a distinction between two

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Feedback.

Serge. My feedback is;

If you empower us as users to alter the settings, it will be of great benefit
towards complete customization.

For example, I will be a much happier camper if I can easily alter the
size, color, opacity, placement of the icons/type/overlay.

If I could change anything, I would remove the horizontal line (distracting),
display only the album/image icon at reduced opacity, disable the number of photos, make the
size of the type smaller and change it's color, change the color and vertical
size of the overlay.

If I was able to do the above... I'd be verrrrrrrrry happy.

Hope this is useful for you.

Thank you for all your hard work.

That's the thread of Serge but I would point out the fact that you're not a customer but a user of a free and open source software
our Doc contains an interesting preliminary text on the customization article

I changed the word 'customer' to 'camper' for your benefit.

While I do understand the reasons behind your request, I would not implement it at this time. In your list alone there are 15+ CSS rules. And this is just your list.
All items you want to target are targetable via class names and you can add custom CSS to override default either in the theme of your choice, if it allows, or using localized CSS.
End of the day it just to many variables, sorry.

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Has anyone been able to get the Media Info extension (which puts small file-type logos, like for videos in the corner of a thumbnail) to work with gdThumb?

edit: nevermind ... Media Info was working fine, I was using "Square" thumbnails in gdThumb and that was trimming off the icon, which apparently is using the actual size of the thumbnail (non-square) to calculate where it should go. Once I switched back to "Resize" thumbnails the icon appeared.

Hi i really like your work of GDThumb - 1.0.13, yet i met the problem of "Number of photos per page". it seems it's locked at 15 photos per page. no matter i change the setting in the plugin setting, nor user setting. it doesn't for me. When i disable this plugin, it resumed normal that can display more than 15 photos. can you pls check and give me a help? Thanks.

"Number of photos per page" of the plugin should work fine to manage # of photos.
you may need to bust browser cache to get result visible

I'm using the theme "stripped_responsive". it's not working with more than 15 photos per page.

and when i use the plugin "RV Thumb Scroller". i got the message of "Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'process_GDThumb' not found or invalid function name in /home/memoryplus/public_html/include/functions_plugins.inc.php on line 229" after the 15th pic. it works very well when i use another plugin "GThumb+".

i'm looking forward to hear from you for the fix. because i'm so fond of your work.

Surprise... surprise...

Stripped_responsive sets limit on number of thumbs to 15: see line 54 in themeconf.inc.php
it is part of theme settings but it is not exposed in theme's admin page
gdThumb respects nb_image_page settings set for the gallery. GThumb overwrites it if I remember correctly
nb_image_page is parameter set for PWG from under PWG Options\Display

Fixed in 1.0.14. Will be published later today
