Is it possible to use videoJS without ffmeg?

ffmeg is not always supported by the host. In my install neither ffmeg or mediainfo are available.

I did upload sample_mpeg3.mp4 into FTP folder and tried to sync. Sync did not pick up the file
Plugin specifically states that two libraries above are required. In the past life with Gallery 3 there was a way around to remove similar requirement http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:videos with noffmeg module.

anything like that possible here?

upload the thumbnail yourself http://piwigo.org/doc/doku.php?id=user_ … ure#by_ftp (pwg_representative folder)

and sync with the core sync page, not videojs

Thank you, I think I am getting closer:

* I did create folder with videos and uploaded samples from http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1425 - .m4v, .mov x2, .mp4
* only m4v and mp4 did make it in, but not .mov. Not a big deal but interesting
* it may be intentional, but path to the video file is not necessarily correct in http://photo.dragonsoft.us/index?/category/73 - as it looks like this http://photo.dragonsoft.us./galleries/video/sample_mpeg4.mp4 - notice the "." (dot) in the root url
* because video is served directly and not via content proxy (i.php), I have to use top level protection for galleries folder but open up direct access to video folder. Not a big deal but probably would be nice to have proxy support
* I do have 3 mp4 files, only 2 plays, but it may be player issue as another most likely optimized for QT only
* I do know that I can use $conf['upload_form_all_types'] = true; to allow all the file types, but it would be nice to support common types for sync

PS: I do not care much for thumbnail itself at this point so generic is used, but if support for video extraction can be added without use of ffmeg, it would be nice

FFMPEG and MediaInfo are not require.
Those tools are use to gather and generate the poster.
Please refer to the plugin documentation for details.
If anything unclear please let me know and we will solve it.

xbgmsharp I don't know how to contact you. If it is necessary to translate to portuguese (from Portugal, not brazilian) i can do that. Just send me the texts for my email.
I have seen "Help by translating this extension in your language" on the piwigo-videojs, but I can, if necessary, translate other things.
Now, I will try the plugin on my site.
:)

all the best
