Req: total hits counter
Would it be possible for someone to make a plug-in that would count the total number of photos feud and return that number to the front page? There already is a function for the total number of photos themselves, however the total number of views would be nice to have as well.
Would it also be too much to ask for this plug-in to have an option in the back end for the administrator to specify the starting point? For example, my old gallery has over 12 million views and I would like to start at that number with this new gallery. I am not worried so much as to the number of views per individual picture, but want to make sure the total counter is correct moving forward.

I like the idea of total number of views! I would like to also see the total view per photo as well. I think in my case it would help to see what people "like" to see which may be the most popular. The total views per image would help with that.
For me to be able to see it in the admin section would be fine.
Sorry not trying to cut in on your thread timned88! Maybe it could be user configurable for several ideas (front page or Admin section). Really love the stats I can see now, would love to see more.

Nah, we're good!
To further elaborate... on my old gallery3 site, the front page in the sidebar displayed the following info...
Total Images: 17,189
Total Views: 11,938,345
The total views reflected the number of actual photo views in gallery3 (1,545,987) PLUS an offset (10,392,358) which reflected the final counter from a previous gallery that I had used to come up with the actual total of 11,938,345.
In this new plugin which I am requesting, the total views would be whatever the total views from piwigo PLUS the offset of 11,938,345 to reflect the actual new total. Clear as mud?

100% clear! I had Gallery prior to Piwigo but an older version, however it had the total views as well.
I have not uploaded many of my images yet so have not even thought about the past views but that would be great! Hopefully over the next few weeks as time allows I will get this all done and redo my site (update my horrible HTML), working on learning Dreamweaver now.
