Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I am using virtual folders. I have deleted some folders that had pictures in them. I read in the manual that deleting a virtual folder with pictures does not delete the photos. I also read that to delete these photos, I have to go to Photos -> Batch Manager -> Predefined filter: with no virtual album, then select all the photos and delete them.
Just want to make sure this is correct, as I have 1822 photos in this state and I don't want to have to go back and upload them again!
Piwigo version: 2.7.4
Operating system: Linux (Debian testing)
PHP: 5.6.6-2 (Show info) [2015-03-20 11:37:14]
MySQL: 5.5.42-1 [2015-03-20 10:37:14]
Graphics Library: External ImageMagick 6.8.9-9
5570 photos (first photo added on Wednesday 25 February 2015)
14 albums including 0 physical and 14 virtual (3748 associations)

Mark-
I don't have a solution unfortunately but I'm curious to find out how it is that you knew you had exactly 1822 photos in that state? I noticed too that I'm able to completely disassociate photos from any album (even without deleting the albums). But I couldn't find anything that indicated there were any orphans. I'm also using 2.7.4.

Found it! Every time I post on a forum, my brain kicks into overdrive and I start frantically searching lest someone else find a simple answer to my question.
"Orphans photos can be managed from [Photos » Batch manager » Predefined filter » With no virtual album]." http://piwigo.org/doc/doku.php?id=user_ … mation_box
The photos in that batch can be assigned to a new gallery by just selecting the photos in question then using the 'action' dropdown at the bottom to 'Associate to album'.

EDIT: Also, sorry I think I was a little bit off topic. Mark, you were looking to find out if the photos were deleted or not. In a roundabout way, I think I answered that. I did just test it though and found that when I deleted an album, the photos simply became orphans. I was able to retrieve them by following the same steps as earlier.
