I don't know what you are doing but the new version 2.8.a will not install and will not work. Old version be will erased, nothing will be installed in its place. Maybe related:
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /path/admin/include/plugins.class.php on line 182\n', referer: http://site/admin.php?page=plugins&tab=new&installstatus=ok&plugin_id=piwigo-videojs
Luckily, I had a local backup with 2.7.a to prevent disaster.

Crap, I didn't realize the plugin update failed and I did a synchronize on my database and it DELETED all of my .MP4 files from the Piwigo database:
0 albums added in the database
1 photos added in the database
0 albums deleted in the database
1318 photos deleted from the database
36826 photos updated in the database
0 errors during synchronization
Metadata synchronization results
This means I lost all of the tags, descriptions, info, etc. etc.
Under Plugins/Manage I see:
Version 2.7.a
ERROR: THIS PLUGIN IS MISSING BUT IT IS INSTALLED! UNINSTALL IT NOW.
I'm going to try and restore my database from last night's backup to get all the lost information back.
Is there a way to get download the old version of the plugin?

I was able to restore my database to get everything back (whew), but of course now no videos will play because the Video.JS plugin is broken.
