I think I found a bug, when I have multiple pictures with the same filename (ex. IMG_123.jpg) and enable URL rewriting the thumbnail in the gallery will link to the wrong image. I disabled URL rewriting on my gallery for now because it made it unusable.

$conf['php_extension_in_urls'] = true;
$conf['category_url_style'] = 'id-name';
$conf['picture_url_style'] = 'file';
