I've noticed that the Thumbnail Tooltip extension doesn't properly handle double quotes in image descriptions. I have my tooltips set to "Title - Description" and when I hover over a thumbnail, the first double quotes in the descriptions turns into a \ (escape character) and the rest of the text is missing. On the photo page, the tooltip doesn't include the double quotes at all (which is fine and I'm guessing that's not being done by the extension since it's not a thumbnail).

Thanks. I didn't know how to file a bug in Trac and couldn't find the extension in Github so I posted here. :)

Hello windracer,
Indeed there is a problem with double quotes. I had not thought of them. I'll update my code.

You can download the new version (http://fr.piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=738). Normally it's good. Thank you for telling me about this problem.
I created a Github for this extension : https://github.com/Sarybe/ThumbnailTooltip

Trying to reach Sarbye - I cannot get the Thumbnail Tooltip plug in to work on my site - I have the plug in set to not display and the tooltips still show up. I have been trying to reach you and am sorry to crash into this post but can't find any other way to reach you - I sure hope you reply to this. Site is http://www.designbysue.com/photos/ I do not want the tooltips to display at all because it is duplicate information. Please help.
Thanks
Sue

Hello Sue,
Thumbnail Tooltip is not used to permanently hide the tooltip on the pictures. The extension only allows you to add new information in the tooltip or to leave the original tooltip.
If you want to permanently delete the tooltip, you must look for another extension, or create a new template and copy the file /themes/default/template/thumbnails.tpl, then delete on line 37
title="{$ thumbnail.TN_TITLE}"

Thank you for your fast reply - sorry I totally misunderstood the usage of the plug in - even the wording in the plug in itself led me to believe you could hide it by the yes / no boxes.
I appreciate your taking the time to tell me how to remove it (what code to look for). I am not sure how to do what you wrote but I at least know know what to research. (your's seems to be the only plug in to do with the tooltips) I wish there was a way to do this through css but I have not found one.
Thank you again
Sue
EDIT: It appears to "create a new theme" is like creating a child theme was in Menalto Gallery. Found info here http://piwigo.org/doc/doku.php?id=dev:e … e_creation for anyone else with this question.
