Hello,
I keep an EXIF table in my database, extract just the good info and generate a concise report with a good deal of filtering, translation and consolidation.
Note that this is not just a list of EXIF tags to list (like EXIF View extension), but rather a processed report with many command line options.
I have looked for an extension which will place an [_EXIF_] button somewhere on the image and popup a non-modal frame/window/box showing the report.
I could just use IM->annotate() to write black text on a white background and name it *.exif.jpg. Too cheesy?
What is the best way to show a flat ASCII text report associated with an image?
Brian

I don't fully understand your situation. Is "EXIF table" some separate SQL database you created?
It sounds like you can just use the existing metadata button in Piwigo. There are instructions how to enhance it in the Piwigo documentation:

and if you are looking in a way to just display differently the metadata, you can do it with a custom theme or plugin

Hi,
>> I don't fully understand ... It sounds like you can just use the existing metadata button in Piwigo.
Here is what the "existing metadata button" shows
2#025 = Brian P. Barnes,Fractasia.com,Austin, Texas USA,D800Extreme,New Years Eve 2014,Vulan Gas Co.
2#055 = 20141231
2#060 = 211445+0000
2#116 = 2014 BRIAN P. BARNES
2#120 = New Years Eve Bash at the Vulcan Gas Company. \\n Photo by Brian P. Barnes 2015 Fractasia.com
It's a raw dump and looks dumpy. What is "2#116"? Is it a code for an EXIF tag? Wouldn't it be more informative to show the tag name:
FocalLength => 28.0 mm
>> do it with a custom theme or plugin
The original post listed specific extension information I have found in the 4 EXIF extensions containing Tag:EXIF.
Can you elaborate on the specific plugin/theme/extension you are referring to?
A data dump with half the data still encoded is not what I am looking for. Neither is an array of tags to dump.
TY,
Brian

Did you look in the plugin library? Lots of good stuff in there.
EXIF View
About: Converts EXIF values to human readable localized values. Corresponds to EXIF specification 2.2. Easily extensible with more languages or with more "translations".
