strange timezone error message on server about piwigo directory.

Hello All-

My photos' web site has suddenly started giving me the following message. Don't know if it's anything to do with piwigo.

Warning: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected the timezone 'UTC' for now, but please set date.timezone to select your timezone. in /usr/home/mmolvray7/public_html/galleryphp/include/common.inc.php on line 134

Is this something I shuld fix in my piwigo root dir? Or something I should ask my hosting service about? Or is there simply a file I can eidt or add?

Thanks for your help!

Piwigo version: 2.9  [not sure whether 0, 1, or 2]
PHP version: 5.6.32
MySQL version: 5.0.11
Piwigo URL: http://www.molvray.com/photos/

Here, I searched "timezone" for you. There are several posts about it ...

Re: strange timezone error message on server about piwigo directory.

Oh good grief. Thanks. I must admit, it seemed like such a weird problem to me, I didn't think other people might have already had it. D.u.m.b. I know. Thanks for being nice about. Off to try the solution now.

Yup. that did it. I edited local/config/config.inc.php and added the line

Code:

date_default_timezone_set('America/New_York');

(altered for my timezone of course.)

End of error message. :)
