migration

Hello
Due to server problems,  my host has migrated website and database to a new server. After migration Piwigo works fine. I can upload the new albums to the new ftp location fine. However Piwigo still synchs to the old FTP server and not to the new location.
Anybody out there who can help? My Webdesigner is unreachable and I have no technical knowledge.
Many Thanks, Evelyn.

Re: migration

Hello
piwigo synchronizes where piwigo is! So that means you're accessing to your old website/server; or you think it's the old server
i can't help you there ; contact your webhoster

Re: migration

Hi All,

So ill try to explain the issue differently.

Creates album directly on ftp server then synchronizes PIWIGO. New Album does not appear at the other end.

I am new to PIWIGO and i have no idea why its not working.
Have tried uploading from the PIWIGO Dashboard and get this error.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: migration

Since you have no technical knowledge and it happened after the migration contact your web hoster

Re: migration

Unlike Evelyn who made the original post i do have technical knowledge and experience just not with PIWIGO so any advice will be useful.
The hosting company have said its not their fault and to check with developer. I am not her IT Guy just trying to help her out.
Thanks
Nate

Re: migration

You are paying for a web hosting. They did a server migration. They did it wrong somehow.
They have all their hands to check if every files are the same with the correct chmod and permissions, to check if the domain correspond to the right server etc
You can do that, but you are already paying for

Re: migration

I Have tried uploading a picture with this post of the error i get when trying to use the ftp tab on PIWIGO Dash board.
Content has been migrated to the new hosting and  the databases have been backed up and migrated.
The new database names will need to be configured in the relevant files Which appears to have been done.
Evelyn would need to contact a developer for this as the hosting company cant.
unfortunately her IT Guy is unavailable.
As i have said i dont know this program except what i have learned in the last 24 hours.

What files would need to be changed?

Re: migration

What is the error being received?

I'd love to offer suggestions, but the description is not, well, descriptive.

Re: migration

Nothing
Piwigo is not folder dependent. And since it's a server migration nothing to change.

And I have already told you what to check first

Re: migration

Hi,

Sorry dont know how else to describe the issue.
User tries to create a folder using FTP and it doesn't synchronize with the website and PIWIGO.

When you use the Photo - add - ftp option in the PIWIGO Dashboard i get the error "Fatal error: Uncaught --> Smarty: unable to write file /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/ev/en/tt/eventtoevent.co.uk/public_html/piwigo/_data/templates_c/wrt5af5c9e7def196_70006947 <-- thrown in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage23/ev/en/tt/eventtoevent.co.uk/public_html/piwigo/include/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smarty_internal_runtime_writefile.php on line 48"

Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not.

Will try and find help elsewhere as well and update as and when.

Thanks in advance
Nate

Re: migration

As well:

See if your host can validate the permission settings for both the FTP path, and your gallery path to
ensure they match the old installation (IE: Read/Write for web server users)
