Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I just attempted to do a netinstall into my hosted webspace (34SP are the ISP).
The netinstaller PHP created the file system in folder piwigo and I got as far as clicking on the "Install Piwigo now" button displayed on the screen.
This got me a 403 access forbidden screen, and this is where I am stuck.
I tried to switch to the manual install instructions which say, "Once all files are transfered, go to the web address with a web browser, for example http://example.com/photos Piwigo will detect nothing is installed yet, and redirect you to the installation page".
I was not redirected, I got "You don't have permission to access /piwigo on this server."
How do I kick off a manual install using a browser given that I am accessing a hosted website?
Thanks
Geoff
Piwigo version: 2.10.2
PHP version: 7.3
MySQL version: Don't know
Piwigo URL: http://<my website url>/piwigo

Best ask your hosting provider, we don't know why your web server doesn't have permissions to access the directory or files the FTP method created. Likely ftp and web run as different users so permissions of one maybe should be group (for example, ftp user owner created directories rwxr-x--- but web is in group so rwxrwx--- would be needed for Piwigo to be able to write configuration and other files). Which is which you should tell or if you don't know your provider does.

Hi erAck
Many thanks for your swift response, I will contact my ISP as you suggest and I'll report back here with any solution they provide, for future reference

Hi erAck
Just to let you know, the problem was exactly what you said. I just needed to CHMOD everything to be accessible to public. I then browsed to the folder and completed the installation.
Thank you so much for your help
Kind regards

Glad I pointed into the right direction. Chmod "everything to be accessible to public" doesn't sound exactly correct, but shrug, some hosting providers have screwed setups.
