Hello,
I am experimenting with Piwigo hosting. I used tree upload perl script to upload date-based hierarchy (YYYY/MM) of my albums and so far it's really great. I can now browse images based on date, location, tags. What I would love though is to define a couple more virtual albums containing the already uploaded images.
Let's say I have a set of images inside 2021/03 album that are related to a concert. Then what I'd like to have is a new album called 'Foobar concert'.
Is there a way to do it without having the images reupload? I've looked into extensions but found nothing relevant.
Thank you,
jose

You could use [extension by plg] Virtualize to convert your physical albums to virtual albums. Once "virtualized", you can assign images to several multiple albums.

Thank you, the issue with this is that Piwigo hosted solution does not provide "physical albums" feature. Also I don't see "Virtualized" extension in the admin interface.

I thought that "used tree upload perl script to upload date-based hierarchy" would mean you actually have physical albums. If you don't have physical albums but virtual albums then you can just assign images to multiple albums. Anyhow, you didn't mention you're on piwigo.com (if so?), in that case ask their support.

Take a look at the SmartAlbums https://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=544 plugin as well.
This plugin allows you to create a virtual album with defined tags, dates, etc. in where all photos matching magically appear in this virtual album.

Thank you, that does look very interesting. Again.. I don't see this in my Piwigo instance - will try support if they can enable it for me.
