Hello/Hi/Greetings,
How do piwigo get the "created date" from? Obviously not from the EXIF date the picture was taken, because the order is the same as date uploaded, which matches the date the jpeg were created since i upload them from darktable.
should i create a feature request?
EDIT: it actually works, just the photo order edit page is misleading

Are you sure your images to sort actually have an EXIF created date? Because in your Macro/Insects album many don't have EXIF metadata at all.

thank you for asking!
yes they all do
EXCEPT the macro shots which as stacks generated by CombineZM. look in Arizona they are direct uploads from DT

okay i did more testing:
* added a debug in the ./admin/include/functions_metadata.php
* created new album and uploaded pictures in random order
* order by create date old->new actually works
The issue is that 'Photos sort order' does not refresh the set and always show the manual order no matter what option you choose at the bottom, so i was under the false impression that it didn't work.
also it turns out that you gather very few data from the exif:
[filesize] => 493
[width] => 3072
[height] => 2047
[date_creation] => 2021-10-16 09:46:25
only that???
