Thank you for the reply. that does not seem to work in sub-albums. In the admin.php file I changed:

$link_start = PHPWG_ROOT_PATH.'admin.php?page=';
$conf_link = $link_start.'configuration&section=';

to

$link_start = PHPWG_ROOT_PATH.'admin.php?page=configuration';
$conf_link = $link_start.'configuration&section=display';


is that following the directions correctly? should this also be impacted sub-albums?

geez..

i was able to get back to normal with a fresh admin.php file.
is there any suggestions for accomplishing what i am trying to do?

You should not edit the admin-file!

In your Administration-panel go to -->Configuration -->Options -->chose the Display-tab and find the last entry in the Main-Page-Section. It says something like "Numbers of albums per page" and change the adjacent value from "12" to the desired number.
Hit "Save" and you got it.
