[resolved] Generating video thumbnails after the initial upload

Hello

Today I upgraded to 15.1.0 and thought I'd take some time to try and fix a couple of things in my configuration. One was to get thumbnails working for video.

I installed ffmpeg and can now see thumbnails for new MP4 files after I upload them.

However the files I uploaded before fixing the problem are unchanged, I assume the thumbnail is created as part of the file upload process.

Is there any way to get Piwigo to parse my albums for existing video files and generate thumbnails for those files that don't have one?

I've tried the 'Synchronise' process and all the 'Global Gallery Actions'.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Charlie

Hello charliea

Have you already tried creating multiple image sizes in the Batch Manager?

Have a nice evening

Re: [resolved] Generating video thumbnails after the initial upload

Hi Olaf

Thank you for your help, that has sorted out the problem for me.

For others:

There's a predefined filter "All videos" within batch manager that can be used to add all the videos in a gallery to a batch.

Once they're in a batch select them all and choose the action "Video metadata and posters"

Select the "VideoJS thumbnails" option and "Apply action".

Thanks again Olaf.

In this newer release of VideoJS is there a way to set the defaults for which options are checked or not? In prior releases, the "Create posters at position in seconds" option was checked (in batch manager) but now it defaults to off so I have to remember to tick it on each time.
