Hello,
I sometimes get the message in glowing red at the top of the screen:
Some photos are missing from your file system. Details provided by plugin Check Uploads
I understand from searching the forums that this can be related to a bug but this doesn't apply in this case. I installed the Check Uploads plugin (which wasn't installed - I believe the functionality is now part of core piwigo?), and the plugin gave me a list of photos that are in the database but not on the filesystem. i.e.
6 files are listed in the database, but not available in the filesystem
photo #186 path=2025/01/24/20250124190829-292c22c6.jpg is in the database, not in the filesystem
photo #187 path=2025/01/24/20250124190836-f1b8ee3b.jpg is in the database, not in the filesystem
photo #188 path=2025/01/24/20250124190843-830ca68e.jpg is in the database, not in the filesystem
photo #189 path=2025/01/24/20250124190852-aa95b1b8.jpg is in the database, not in the filesystem
photo #303 path=2025/02/01/20250201205846-17e578bc.jpg is in the database, not in the filesystem
photo #393 path=2025/02/08/20250208155116-e5f46761.jpg is in the database, not in the filesystem
That would makes sense. I had initially experimented with using uploads but prefer to use synchronize as it is much easier to work with for me, and it's probable I've removed files directly from the uploads directory at some point using linux command line rather than from within piwigo.
I'd hoped that going through all the maintenance options and purging, repairing and updating everything possible would do the trick but no joy. The Big Red Message keeps popping up. Restarting apache and the machine itself doesn't help.
It's beginning to become quite annoying, so much so that I tried a re-install. I wiped the galleries directory and the whole piwigo file system and re-installed. This wasn't a particularly smart move as obviously the database was still intact complete with knowledge about plugins that I'd now removed from the operating system. Then I went through the install process again which was a bit untidy because obviously the db tables were still intact, and, crucially, still have the erroneous information about the non existent photos that I don't particularly care about.
Before I wipe the databases completely and start again is there away of getting rid of this nagging message?
I also get the error that another poster has noted, but I'm assuming that it's connected with me re-installing piwigo with existing populated piwigo db tables that is leading to some sort of anomaly. It appears at the bottom of the screen (and in the apache logs) when I visit the main gallery page:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Non-static method Smarty_Internal_Debug::display_debug() cannot be called statically in /var/www/soppycat.uk/include/template.class.php:588 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/soppycat.uk/include/page_tail.php(96): Template->p() #1 /var/www/soppycat.uk/index.php(374): include('...') #2 {main} thrown in /var/www/soppycat.uk/include/template.class.php on line 588

Is there a solution to this issue? If so, can someone please tell me how?
