Hello,
since a few months I have the problem that it is no longer possible to check for plugin updates or to install plugins. When I go to the page "Plugins -> Check for updates" I get the following error message:
Connection to server unavailable. Warning: Undefined array key "ADMIN_CONTENT" in /config/www/_data/templates_c/8cpdn4^788ce398852f4528faba31af2addfab0d6e2c642_0.file.admin.tpl.php on line 332 Warning: Attempt to read property "value" on null in /config/www/_data/templates_c/8cpdn4^788ce398852f4528faba31af2addfab0d6e2c642_0.file.admin.tpl.php on line 332
At first I thought it was a configuration problem on my side. After further investigation it turned out that for some reason the IP of my server is blocked by Piwigo:
root@5790fa79d589:/# wget https://piwigo.org/ext/ Connecting to piwigo.org (51.38.237.64:443) wget: server returned error: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden
I waited a few months in the hope that the IP would be unblocked again - but unfortunately that doesn't seem to have happened.
I also don't know how this could have happened in the first place - I host a single piwigo instance (with currently around 65.000 photos) on my server using the LinuxServer.io Piwigo Docker container, everything is proxied via Caddy and secured with a local CrowdSec instance. Once a week the docker image is re-pulled and the services are restarted to keep Piwigo up to date. However, the plugins are only updated/installed manually via the web interface. This should not lead to an extraordinary amount of requests to piwigo.org and thus to an IP block, right? There is also no other service running on the server that would be related to Piwigo in any way. After the initial setup everything worked perfectly for about a year and then this problem appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
Is there any way to unblock the IP address, and are there any reasons why it was blocked in the first place to prevent this from happening in the future?
Piwigo URL: https://hampoelz.com/
Thanks in advance
Rene
