Hi Olaf,
Finally found time to download and upgrade your plugin.
Made the mistake by using an asterix as the last character in the Blocked User-Agents list, until I read your comment above the textbox.
Will let you know how it works.

Hello linkingpin,
I know that my system works – it is identical to my standalone version of Bot Protection Pro, only with additional features. It’s a pity that you provided false information during registration. Nevertheless, thank you for appreciating my work.

Of course, Olaf, your system does the job. If you don't here from me, it's because it's perfect. Thanks again.

I just noticed this plug-in and installed it. But how does it know about these bots? Does it download or update signatures or do I have to do this myself?
PS .. my Plug-in says Version 1.1 is this correct?
BTW ... in the Common Bot Description I see these fields BotInfo_SemrushBot, BotInfo_AhrefsBot etc... I guess there should be a description?
Thanks,
Matthijs

One more concern is the log file (bot_log.txt), it's growing fast. Of course it depends on the website. For now I created a weekly logrotate. I also would like the Show log content to start with the latest entry, now I have to get to the bottom to see what happened. And as the log is growing fast, the list is long.
[added which log file]

Thanks, I also tried the documentation link mentioned in this topic, but that is not working (anymore).
I also wonder how to whitelist search engines, as it seems it only allows Google and Bing (for the moment).

Hi Olaf,
tested the new version of the plugin, it seems to work, blocking bots.
I Noticed that in the stats that there are less signatures.
For instance, in the old version I saw these bots:
SemrushBot
SemrushBot-BA
SemrushBot-BM
SemrushBot-COUB
SemrushBot-CT
SemrushBot-SI
SemrushBot-SWA
SemrushBot/7~bl
Now, in the new version, I only see SemrushBot/7~bl. Could be the others are not trying to crawl thru my site.

Hello
Thank you for making this plugin available.
Unfortunately, I have had to deactivate it because when a visitor visits my site for the first time, they get a white screen with the text:
"Direct access not allowed"
If I disable the plug-in and try again with a flushed-out browser, there is no issue.
If I can provide you with more details, please do let me know. Here is my current set-up.

Hello and thanks for the feedback!
I was able to reproduce the behavior: on a first visit without a referrer and without cookies, the message “Direct access not allowed” can currently appear. I’m currently on vacation, but I’m already working on a fix that will gracefully allow the first visit (no white screen) while keeping the logging in place.
I’ll follow up here in the thread as soon as the update is ready.

Version 1.2.0 is now live.
Minor changes, bug fixes, and added Spanish language support.
Thanks to the forum feedback.

Good evening Olaf and thanks for the new release.
How should I update the plugin ? It does not show among the available updates in the Piwigo administration.
Should I delete it, look for it and install it via the administration ? Or via ftp ? Will my settings and logs be kept between the 2 versions ?
