Hello everyone.

Looking for some advice here with Piwigo, my favourite photo library..!

Recently, when going to my Piwigo site: https://derekjones.net/photos, there is a line of text at the top that says, "Direct access not allowed." If you refresh the page, it's fine, and it also works if you go back to the site later without closing the browser.

I've no idea where to start with this one. Can anyone help?

Found the problem....

If I disable the plugin "Bot Protection", the problem goes away. I discovered that the plug-in, for me, is faulty. If I try the settings, I get:

Warning: Constant BOT_PROTECTION_IP_LOG already defined in /var/www/piwigo__3/plugins/bot_protection/admin/bot_protection_admin.php on line 11

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65014880 bytes) in /var/www/piwigo__3/plugins/bot_protection/admin/bot_protection_admin.php on line 132

It's disabled for now, and the problem has gone away.

In the first tab of the Bot protection plugin, there is a checkbox: try unchecking it and you should no longer have this problem. I can't seem to set this configuration to English on my website, but in French, it is:

Paramètres de protection contre les bots (Bloque les accès sans referer ni cookies – comportement typique des bots automatisés.)
Bloquer l’accès sans referer ni cookies

meaning :
Bot protection settings (Blocks access without referrers or cookies – typical behavior of automated bots.)
Block access without referrers or cookies

Perhaps you should contact the developer of this plugin.

He has his own website where he publishes this plugin.
