Hello and thanks for your work.
I'm a rare Piwigo manager: I put my pictures up a couple of times a year, and always upgrade when I get an email to upgrade.
This time, when I got the invitation to upgrade from 16.1 to 16.2, I went to the page, and selected the button "Piwigo 16.2 is available", which took me to link that downloaded the bundle--not the desired action.
What I didn't see, because my browser window took up most of my 30" monitor, was at the bottom right of the window was the button that would do all the work for me with an automatic update.
Subscribing to UI/UX of the "F" level of focus, I didn't notice the correct upgrade button in the bottom right.
SUGGESTION:
Move the automatic button up to the top left, and have TWO BUTTONS:
[1] Auto Update Piwigo
[2] Manual update Piwigo

Bruce

It's true that I thought first there was no longer an auto-update system via the administration before reading this forum. I was already looking for the download. This location is not ideal on this wide empty page, even though I read a few months ago that the position of the save and similar buttons were to be standardized at the bottom right.

Yes, this thread I opened is redundant to [Forum, topic 34672] What happened to the auto update icon?
Fine to merge.
Piwigo takes a bit to get used to, it works, but it works differently.
So, when I didn't see the button, I assumed it was elsewhere, and looked around
as I wasn't sure I was in the correct place.
And that there _was_ a button to upgrade, a friendly green, it reinforced that I was indeed in the correct place, and that was indeed the correct button to push (albeit a tiny button)
But the big orange button in the bottom was not near the focus of my fovea, so it was essentially invisible.
I had to go to Youube to find the button...
Good UX is to have like actions proximal, with consequences made evident if there are irreversible/difficult to reverse actions.
The "Plugins" tab is a more explanatory, and better laid out page (though I'd argue it could show more pertinent data without resorting to hover)
Glad to have Piwigo.
Cheers,
Bruce
