have been using Piwigo for about eight years and still enjoy it a lot. However, I am currently facing a workflow issue related to FTP uploads.

I upload most of my photos via FTP and would like Piwigo to automatically sanitize filenames before syncing. Last week, some files contained Chinese characters, which ended up blocking the synchronization process entirely. Even though my albums allow a wider range of filenames, these specific files still caused the sync to fail.

Ideally, I would like a solution where filenames are sanitized automatically and the gallery is synchronized on a schedule, for example once per hour, without manual interaction.

How can I solve this? is there a recommended plugin, script, or best practice for reliable FTP uploads with automatic filename handling and scheduled synchronization?

I am also a bit surprised that automatic synchronization does not seem to be a more common topic, as this feels like a fairly standard use case for larger photo libraries.
