HTTP 500 Error after Update to Version 16

Hi,

I get an HTTP 500 error message when I try to access the main album after update to Verion 16 .../piwigo/index.php?/category/1). All sub-albums with the category <> 1 work (.../piwigo/index.php?/category/2)....

Re: HTTP 500 Error after Update to Version 16

Hi !

In my experience, in 99% of cases, error 500 with Piwigo stems from a permissions issue.
First, grant write permissions to everyone on all files in the directory (and subdirectories) containing Piwigo.

Re: HTTP 500 Error after Update to Version 16

Granting write permission to everyone for all files is ill-advised in 99.98% of all cases, but it's usually suggested as a one-club-hits-all because individual server setup isn't known. Usually 755 or 775 on directories and 644 or 664 on files is sufficient.

Re: HTTP 500 Error after Update to Version 16

The error unfortunately persists. I changed the directory permissions to 755 and made the album public. All other albums and sub-albums work, only the album with the link .../category/1 doesn't. All other numbers (.../category/2, .../category/35) work.

I think it's the same error as in [Forum, topic 34562] No album after update to 16.... But unfortunately, there's no solution.

Re: HTTP 500 Error after Update to Version 16

This week, I also had a “cursed” album.  I created another one with a similar name, then associated the photos from album 1 with album 2. When I saw that everything was working, I deleted album 1. It was a first-level album with no sub-albums. I never found out what happened, but now everything is OK.
