Seperate folder for photos

Can I have a separate folder for my photos?  I would like to install Piwigo into my "root" folder and have my 400 or so photos in a folder called "photos".  Having Piwigo access the "photos" folder. I think this would keep my hosting server nice and tidy.

Yes...

Admin / Site Manager :

Add ./photos/

Another way is to update directly the sites table.
To change ./galleries/ in ./photos/

Note: So others could install piwigo in a directory and then code it as ../photos/

Enjoy!

Re: Seperate folder for photos

The only constraint is that the "photos" directory must be reachable with HTTP. I mean you can't have photos outside the apache document root (if you use Apache).

Re: Seperate folder for photos

Thanks for the help and also for a GREAT gallery script.  I didn't know what folder to FTP my photos up to?   I had mentioned a folder called "photos" but I would prefer to use the default folder that came with Piwigo.  Would that be "galleries"?  Do I just upload all 400 to the galleries folder?

Re: Seperate folder for photos

There are 2 main method for uploading your photos : the pLoader way or the FTP way. The 2 methods are described in your Piwigo installation [Administration>Links>Instructions]
