Is there any documentation for the database setup?  I didn't see this in the doc folder and couldn't find it in the online documentation.  This should really be in both places since I'd guess most people have to create the piwigo database manually.  Just a list of permissions that the database account needs would be helpful, so I can create a unique account, rather than using an admin account.
