[resolved] User upload

I can not figure out how to make the upload link or the category show up under a user login. When I log in as administrater, the upload link is there and the category that I want the user to upload to shows up fine. I have authorized the community photos directory and I ticked always show upload link. I am not sure what else I need to do.

Re: [resolved] User upload

Have you set the user access for uploading? (see screencopy).

Re: [resolved] User upload

I have no idea at the moment ... if you want me to have a look, I can register to your gallery and you set me as administrator for a short while.
You can give me the link to your gallery via MP if you like.

Re: [resolved] User upload

This is reported bug: [Bugtracker] ticket 1492 that will be fixed.
As for now, you need to have at least one picture in uploadable categories so they can be visible to not admin users.

Re: [resolved] User upload

Thank you for looking at it. It works with a pic in it like you said. I was wondering if in a future that when a user uploads a photo they will be automatically resized and a thumbnail created for each photo?

Re: [resolved] User upload

I noticed that you must create a thumbnail for a pic and upload it to or the pic will not be visable. I got this when I did a database synchronization

[./galleries/Community_Photos/Birds/IMG_6606050210.jpg] PWG-UPDATE-2 (missing thumbnail)

The http upload will only do that: upload the files you provide.
To resize the pictures and create the thumbnails, use [extension by plg] pLoader for Windows, or [extension by ron] pLoader for Mac OS X, or [extension by plg] pLoader for Linux with [extension by plg] Community so the registered users can upload too.

It's better to create thumbnails on your computer (with pLoader or any other tool) as it is very ressource consuming for the server.
However you can create missing thumbnails from your gallery: see Admin -> Tools -> Thumbnails (attached screencopy).

Re: [resolved] User upload

I have a similar problem....
I can not figure out how to make the upload link or the category show up under admin or user login. When I log in as administrater, the upload link is NOT there at all and when I test as a user it is also not there. Though I have ticked always show upload link.  Categories are in order and are open, all settings have been set to accept registration of users and their images. I am not sure what else I need to do.

Re: [resolved] User upload

Your users can only add pictures in physical categories (with a directory under "galleries")

Are your categories physical or did you create them with Piwigo administration?

Re: [resolved] User upload

All categories are physical and are synchronized as well as registered users can upload, the show upload link is marked positive (ticked) I have been able to add images but through the admin control panel logged is as admin but am unable to do so in any other way.  I have read several of the forum discussions about this problem and all say roughly the same thing and I have followed those instructions to the letter as well as the ones here and still no upload link.  I had a look through the PHP files but could not find where the config file was or whether it was true/false for this particular issue.

Thanks in advance for the help.
