My photoalbum setup:
Group: BarUsers
Albums:
- 1 Bar (private)
------ 1.1 Birthday (private)
------ 1.2 Party (private)
------ ... all albums in Bar will be private
In the 'BarUsers' group permissions I have authorized access to 'bar', 'birthday' and 'party' (this group can also upload photo's and add album/categories with the community plug-in)
The "problem": when a BarUsers user adds a new album with parent 'bar' the other members of 'BarUsers' can't see this album until I authorize it in the group permissions screen. Is there a way to give a group access to a category + all categories/albums beneath also when they are newly added.
Version: Piwigo 2.2.4

Check the Community plug-in settings for your "BarUsers" group and set "high trust : uploaded photos are directly displayed in the gallery".

The setting is set like this. The user who uploads the pictures can see the pictures and the new album. But the other users have to wait until I autherize the new album for the group.
So it would be great if you have authorization to one category you alse have authorization to that category's childs. Just like the 'private' setting works.
Ex.: I am a user in the group 'BarUsers'. I make a new album under 'Bar': '1.3 BBQ' and upload pictures in it. Other users can't see this album until the admin goes to the group management screen and authorizes the album for the group 'BarUsers'.
I think it would be more logical that if I have access to 'Bar' I also have access to all it's child albums...
Hope my English isn't to bad and I explained it so you understand it :)

Your English is probably better than mine ;-)
And your explanations are quite clear. I'm afraid you should wait until the next version of Piwigo (2.3) and Community plug-in for what you want to...

Thanks Eric for your answer!
It would be great of this options could be implemented in the next version of Piwigo or Community plug-in.
It would be really helpful for photo albums that are mainly filled with user content (like mine).
PS: will make post in the request forum: http://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p … 49#p124249
