It seems that the plugin was broken by the recent Piwigo update to 2.3.0 : The identification fails with previous autolog url or with newly created ones.

Hi fcoiffie;
I upgraded my test gallery http://lucmorizur.free.fr to Piwigo 2.3.0, and tested all Event Cats links from the old demo page (old but still valid :-p), and also created a new Event Cats link. I had no problem.
Do you repeat the problem you stated? If yes, which browser do you use? What other plugins are installed on your gallery?
The activated plugins on my test gallery are:

I'm sorry : in fact, I have associated a user in the autolog form to a page. But, this user wasn't authorized for this page. So, the event cats plugin works fine, it's just that I have to check my users' authorizations.
Thanks for for your help.

No problem! At least thanks to you, I tested 2.3 compatibility seriously enough ;-) .
Apart of that, it's right that there is a lack of authorizations management in Event Cats :-/ . I have bread on the board.... (French expression ;-) .)

First, I say thank you for the great development of the grate piwigo gallery...
And now my problem with Event Cats:
If I understand it correctly (I use it the first time), it is possible to generate a "secret" link to a page/album/image (private). This link has the same rights as the specificated generic user. To this point everything is o.k. But, if the user of these link do a registration, the new registrated user becomes not the rights from the link, only the standard rights.
I use Piwigo 2.3.4

Well, I would not call it "secret", as the link can be read clearly. But this is not really important.

Yes, indeed. There is a bug, I tested that this evening.
So, I have to look at that. I'll keep you updated of course.
Thanks for notifying!

You're welcome!
Maybe the answer was fast, but... I can't swear the solution will be as much quick :-/ !
Good night!

Firstly, let me say that I love Event Cats. A great extension, and one I use daily, so many thanks.
With fairly major changes to the backend, I'm expecting Piwigo 2.4 will break the plugin, so am holding off upgrading at the moment, though many of the new features look very welcome. So my question is, whether there are any plans to update the plugin? (Or whether, even better, could it work as is?)
I'm not trying to put pressure on, and I'd be happy to help wherever I can, if necessary (though am not particularly familiar with the Piwigo backend code base).
Thank again.
Hi tommy;
many thanks for your message, it's always very nice :-))
Well I have to test 2.4 to be sure (and unfortunately my internet supplyer prevents using autoupdate, so I have to do that manually, which is far less convenient), but I think Event Cats should be fully 2.4 compatible. So you may try to force. Of course if you do so, I'm interested in the result :-) . I shall proceed to the test quite soon. (But as you can see from my previous messages, I don't manage to spend as much time I would like on this :-/ ...)
I hope to update this post rapidly :-) . Write here soon!

Hi Event Cats users :-)
I upgraded to Piwigo 2.4.0 on my local test gallery (it is a gallery placed on my computer, I don't need to be connected to the internet to access it). I noticed just a very small problem with current Event Cats version (1.2.6): the entry number in the confirmation message when creating an entry, is always 0. But everything else works normally -- I din't test everything, but normally the tests I are representative for all functionnalities.
So I should normally check Event Cats 2.4 compatible soon.
Yet I've a lot of work to do on it :-/ ... I don't make any more promises about when now :-/ ...

Awesome program...
I'm using it for almost all of my albums, just because you always have new people to some events....
My list of entries are getting bigger and bigger and it's getting difficult to manage it.
I would propose a simple link which appear at the bottom page of an album, which would appear for the webmaster or the admin. By clicking this link, you do the same job as "totally automated" in a transparent way, displaying only the final autolog-on link...
Furthermore, it would look more user friendly to new users...
I hope I was clear, if not, you may contact me on the French forum...
Thank you for this work ;-)
