Yes,
I noticed it. Thanks.
I do not know exactly if it works or not, I need to follow it and use it first.
I have to check the option 1 and find our what the configuration file says.
The "Automatic order" option is better presented elsewhere with options to: Sort Automatically in Alphabetic order, Sort Automatically after the Dates photos were taken, etc.
All these options could be placed under One roof.
Also, when you click it "Manage Photo Rank" first, you will notice that it automatically changes from "Albums" to "Photos". That is exactly where it should be. It is related to Photos not to Albums.
I will try it later.

Though I just use Piwigo for a few days, I believe the option 1 (default sort order) is what defined at "Configuration" -> "Option", not at the configuration file

Not exactly, a Photo cannot sort itself, the sorting only exist if there is a holder for grouping them. Just like you can sort namecard in a namecard box.

The options I mentioned exist under Configuration --> Options --> Main - Default Photos Order.
Options:
Post Date: Descending/Ascending
File Name: Descending/Ascending
ID: Descending/Ascending
Other Criteria can be added.
That's the one you also mentioned I think.
I believe there is another option somewhere, that does the same think with in an album. I will post details when I find it.

I found the other option I mentioned:
Click Albums --> Sub Albums --->The photos of the Sub-Album will appear.
On the left hand site there are a few icons.
Just before the icons you find: Sort Order: The putdown menu is: Default, Rating Score, Most visitors, Post date, etc etc. (No Manual sorting).
