RSS Feed for albums

Hello,

just starting with Piwigo on my webspace. It´s a very nice piece of software.

I would like to connect my gallery a little bit more with my blog (it´s not Wordpress, it´s Serenditipy/S9y). One idea is to post automatically when I have a new photo in a special album which I use for photos from abroad. For this I need a RSS Feed which only deliver fotos/updates from this album.

Would love to see such a feature.

Regards an keepin on coding :)

Re: RSS Feed for albums

Hi roblen,

We have already received such a request, but it has not been implemented yet.

I think this would be useful for communication between applications.

What do you expect in the RSS feed of an album?

Re: RSS Feed for albums

Hello Pierrick,

thanx for your quick answer.

Expectations? Hmmm

Title of the new Photo - to use it as a title for my blog article
A Thumbnail of the new Photo
A Link to the Photo in Piwigo

I´m not a developer. What I can do. Make a test import of RSS in my Blog and see, what I would change for a better result.

Will post in a few hours again :)

Regards
Robert

Re: RSS Feed for albums

Hello Pierrick,

just tried an RSS Import - result see the Screenshot

1) Like to see the title of the Photo in the title of the blog post
2) I don´t need the informations about changing albums,...
3) Thumbnail is nice (an option in administration to influence the size of the thumbnail would be great, but it´s not a priority)

What do you think about it?

If I could help in any way, please tell me.

Regards
Robert

Re: RSS Feed for albums

That means 1 item for each photo. Then we have to decide about the sort orders of photos. I think the best is to use the default sort order but keep the ability to change the sort order with a GET parameter.

Re: RSS Feed for albums

Yes, 1 item for each photo would be finde. Sort of order could be the chronology of uploading the pictures?
A GET parameter to define it by myself would be a good idea.

Re: RSS Feed for albums

I would like to see some added custom control over rss feed contents as well. currently I would like the change the image used ( thumbnail) to one of the other sized options now available with the new multiple size option. was thinking  either the small or XS option would be good. can you provide me direction to which file to edit and how to code it. Using the multiple size feature, you could add an option called "Feed image size" that can be altered anytime from the admin area. This would be a great new feature and I would guess it would be fairly simple for such great developers like yours.

P.S. can not get my watermark feature to work.

Re: RSS Feed for albums

Hi,

I just searched the Forum about RSS and this thread seems to be the best one :-)

Well I was looking after how I could change the RSS feed, as I was also missing the Filename/Title/Description of any new photo (and having the option to give some EXIF data along with the photo on the RSS would also be a nice option). For me it is not necessary to state that there is "1 new photo" just showing the thumbnail would suite for me, but I think there are different opinions.

It would be great to have the ability to add additional (custom common) text above or(/and) below of the RSS message, which would appear on all RSS messages.

Instead of having a list with bullets I would love to have the option to hide or change the list style type.

Well there is always room for improvements right? What do you think!?

Re: RSS Feed for albums

Nothing exists

but Piwigo has a powerfull API (see http://your piwigo/tools/ws.htm for test page)
so you can write a script which parse your XML and queries the API (if you install URL Uploader plugin it will add a method allowing to remotely download an image)
