Thought Zenphoto did not name Zenpage is an official plugin, actually it is.  :)

Zenpage is written by the same 2 core developer as Zenphoto

no, you're wrong, they do name it as an 'official' plugin, it's no secret, and i didn't imply it was a secret...

that was not my point at all. my point was, and this is the last time i'm going to bother saying the same thing in this thread, that they claim the availability of the zenpage plugin as a feature, rightly, since they keep it up to date with the core (although not all themes or other plugins support it).

unlike the additional pages plugin of piwigo, which is advertised as a feature on the piwigo features page, but which isn't kept up to date when the core is updated, so you get the situation where something advertised as a 'feature' was actually not available at the time i tried piwigo.

i can't be any clearer than that. it is my whole point and it's been stated here several times now. i posted about it here only because i thought the devs might like to consider the anomaly, but i have no expectation that they will. free (open source) software devs are entitled to operate as they see fit. i am a contributor to, and main developer of, several free software projects myself. so don't misinterpret what i'm saying as ungrateful, i'm merely pointing out the inconsistency, which is actually there and which i was caught by.

having repeated myself for the very last time, the point from my original post at the start of this topic is still the same: devs should consider that if they advertise something as a feature it should be available, so that plugin should be kept updated. that's all. it's no biggie just an observation. sometimes you don't realise how your project can look from the outside to a prospective new user, and generally it's considered nice to get feedback when things appear inconsistent.

look at it from my point of view, i find the piwigo website, i read about it and i think 'that's nice' , one of the reasons i think 'that's nice' is on the features page it says the additional pages functionality is available and that is very useful to me.

I agree with you.

But on the Features page we make it obvious that Additional Pages is a plugin.

Maybe we should have mark this plugin as compatible as soon as Piwigo 2.4 was released.

yeh, thanks plg. this, i think, would make sense, if it's a plugin that's mentioned as a feature, then it shouldn't be unavailable at times, so keeping it updated seems like a nice idea.

cheers.
