Hi,
as mentioned in another post, the user upload was not working after an small update (I can´t remember if it was an plugin or piwigo update).
See here from Post #22
http://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=17944&p=2
After finding no fix to this problem I made a Backup of the web side and updated the gallery to the latest version.
The Gallery was still working but no pictures where displayed in thumbnails and in bigger size.
So I thought to restore my last backup, but now nothing is working anymore.
The call of the web side www.fc-vhs-kaarst.de ends now at http://www.fc-vhs-kaarst.de/upgrade.php
With the following result displayed: No upgrade required, the database structure is up to date
That´s all what you can see on the web side.
I think the update to piwigo 2.4.3 has made changes to the database that are not working with older version 2.3.?, by having no backup of the latest database, I think I am in deep sh..!
1. This was a learning lesson! ;-) (make backup´s before any change)
2. What chance do I have to get it back working?
I have an existing database that properly will work under 2.4.3 but displaying no pictures.
I have an existing piwigo 2.3.? version backup not working with the database (see result when you klick on web side link)
a) May be I can do again an manual update to ver. 2.4.3 and try to fix the none display problem?
b) Or I can do a manual fix of the database?
c) I can install everything new!
But I have no idea what to do for a) and b) and I want to prevent c) (we had already about 1000 pictures from about 20 User on the page)
Some one any Idea?

once you upgraded the database to 2.4 and you have no backup of the database, there is no way back. don't even think of putting back a 2.3 version because it might eventually do even worse with your database.
the only way now is put the piwigo latest version on your server and make it work.

Ok, I think I will try this before the worse case of a new installation.
Is there a tutorial for a manual update of an Piwigo installation.
My installation exist, as older version.
Auto update is not possible, so I need to go via FTP and upload new file new version.
Thanks

Many many thanks.
The manual update worked. I got my Side back last night and it seems everything is working fine.
I am so happy you want belive it, it´s realy a lot of work to install everything new.
So my tip, do your regular BACKUP from all (Installation and Database).
